Online only

Wisconsin Evaluation Collaborative (WEC)

The Wisconsin Evaluation Collaborative (WEC) invites WCER/SoE faculty and staff to a special open session of our monthly Community of Practice (CoP). Register to attend online.

Our CoP is a space for peer-learning, resource sharing, and collaborative discussion. Following recent foundational coursework, the WEC team is facilitating a two-part forum focused on these four distinct methodological topics: Social Network Analysis: a tool for better understanding communities (Facilitator: Rebecca Cors), Mixed Methods Research: Combining Quantitative and Qualitative Data and Strategies (Facilitator: Molly Garner Carroll), Benefit-Cost Analysis for Education Interventions (Facilitator: Jed Richardson), Causal Machine Learning for Observational and Experimental Research (Facilitators: Grant Sim & Huiuping [Emily] Cheng).

SESSION STRUCTURE

This one-hour session includes two separate breakout sessions, allowing you to attend two of the four topics.

In each room, the WEC facilitator(s) will deliver a brief presentation on the core concepts, initial strategies, and practical challenges, followed by open discussion and Q&A.

Note: This is designed as a peer-led discussion forum to share what we've learned and explore real-world applications—it is not a formal workshop led by established experts. All attendees will receive access to a Google Folder containing the session slides and related resources from our training to support ongoing learning and resource sharing.

Join us to build connections and begin a collaborative exploration of these research approaches within the SoE community.
