WCER Strategic Planning

In the first six months of 2021, WCER engaged in a strategic planning process guided by WCER's values:

  • Innovation and Excellence
  • Equitable Education
  • Affirming and Increasing Diversity
  • Healthy Workplace
  • Partnering Across Differences

The goals of this process were:

  • Identify the knowledge, skills and awareness of positionality needed to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into the center’s daily operations;
  • Improve and expand the center’s services equitably to UW-Madison students, faculty, and academic and university staff;
  • Operate as a learning organization that uses systematic problem solving, experimentation, learning from its own and others’ diverse experiences and the efficient transfer of knowledge to achieve its mission;
  • Promote high-quality, community-connected local, state, national and international research on education; and
  • Expand and diversify its sources of funding for research.
