WCER Project & Community Learning Series | Developing an AI-Driven Data Tool for a Research Inquiry
April 30, 2026, 11 a.m.—noon
Room 259 Ed Sci or join online via Zoom
Rich Halverson
ELPA Professor and CALL-ECL PI
How can researchers use AI to make sense of thousands of pages of interviews, policy documents, and survey data—while maintaining the quality of inquiry? The CALL-ECL team has been documenting the efforts of eight urban districts to establish pathways for developing equity-centered school leaders, tracing the growth of professional networks, and developing data tools to support these efforts.
In this presentation, researchers Rich Halverson and Caleb Probst, and developer Mark Miller, will showcase a new AI-driven tool that integrates visualization and text data to explore the wide ranging data collected over the first five years of the project. The session will showcase the AI tools and features, discuss design choices, and invite feedback on how theses kinds of tools might support collaborative research in your projects.
Attend in person at 259 Educational Sciences, 1025 W. Johnson St., or online on Zoom.
