NSF proposal prep

October 13, 2025, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. CT

21 N Park Street, Room 5041 (computer lab)

This RED course will highlight specific proposal preparation for research administrators new to the National Science Foundation (NSF). We will address unique areas of the proposal preparation process for NSF, including NSF Directorates, the NSF PAPPG, types of NSF submissions, and program solicitations. We will also discuss the advantages and items to note when using Research.Gov. Attendees will have the opportunity to review an example NSF solicitation and watch a facilitated demo of NSF proposal preparation in Research.gov. Register on Workday to attend.

Note: This class requires attendees to have an active NSF ID. If you do not already have an NSF ID, you can obtain one online by visiting https://apps.research.gov/account/registration.

By the end of this session, learners will be able to:
- Understand how NSF proposal preparation differs from other agency proposal preparations.
- Distinguish among various types of NSF calls and pinpoint requirements outside of the normal PAPPG guidelines.
- Become familiar with navigating Research.gov while completing a proposal case study.
- Use checklists and templates when creating budgets and justifications to address NSF specific administrative and budget components.
