Erica Sponberg
State Relations Specialist
Erica Sponberg is a State Relations Specialist on the Consortium and State Relations team, bringing over 15 years of experience in multilingual learner education and public policy implementation. She recently served as a senior project manager for a dual language-focused National Professional Development grant at Purdue University. Before that, she served at the Indiana Department of Education as an English Learner Specialist. There, she managed the Refugee School Impact grant, collaborated on state and federal grant implementation, monitoring, and compliance, and co-developed statewide professional development. Erica has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (Kansas State University), an M.A. in English Studies and Communications/TESOL (Valparaiso University), and a B.A. in French language and literature and Art History (Pacific Lutheran University). Outside of work, she enjoys attending local arts events and almost any activity that gets her outside, including trail walks with her dog, Coconut. However, her favorite pastime is spending an evening around a table with good food, friends, and family.
